Red, Black and Hue

Yesterday many celebrated Independence Day in a country where many are still oppressed & discriminated against. Yet we still have sitings of nooses and racism. Yes, I threw a few things on the grill but not to celebrate the Red, White & Blue. Instead, I remembered and celebrated #RedBlackHue that's what this day means to me. We tend to forget and set aside the racial profiling, crime, and discrimination against Black and Indigenous people. A hash tag only lasts for a week then we're on to the next trend. Meanwhile, the incarceration rates increase and break happy homes.

Red, Black and Hue means: We all bleed Red, stand as ONE in all Black & Indigenous communities. We also unite as one Hue because we all experience the lack of freedom in this country.
