I might sound like the Grinch for this one, but it has to be said.
I'll be forgetting Christmas after this year. (The presents part bc Jesus is still my homeboy) Just thinking about how much we spend each year every December. I always see posts on social media saying "i'm gonna make sure they have a good Christmas this year" and all that comes to mind is over-spending. Making sure your friend, spouse, child, mother and e.t.c "have a good Christmas" has to be more than just about gifts and shiny things.
Yes, it's the season of giving but who says that can't be every month? Who wrote these freaking rules! That's why most people are broke after the holidays. It just seems like a scam to me. The rich get richer as we're so consumed in getting that expensive watch, bracelet, or toy for our loved ones. Don't go broke trying to get the biggest or the most gifts. It's the thought that counts a card or being around others is all we need. Sheesh, even a simple thoughtful card would do for me. Stressed about getting this & that, you might forget what it really means to share the spirit of Christmas & other holidays of course. Don't be mad or upset if you don't have enough money for gifts. Gifts are priced, but love is priceless. Don't buy me, show me.
Merry Christmas!
